The South Canterbury Cricket Board of Control has appointed David Fisher to take up the CEO role with the SCCA beginning in January 2011, taking over from Graeme Broker who has retired after 4 years at the helm.

David will be well known to many South Canterbury cricket followers, having played his first senior cricket match for Temuka in 1979. He went on to represent the South Canterbury Senior team from 1983 -1994, and has been seen already this season helping out the Magpies at senior level again. David also has a history of coaching (both cricket and rugby) at various school, club and representative levels and will be a real asset to the South Canterbury district.

David has had a successful career in banking, with the last 16 years spent in Nelson (11 as manager), but is now combining his love of cricket with his administrative skills to coincide with a lifestyle change which has brought him back to South Canterbury.

David is very approachable, so club members, cricket supporters and administrators should make themselves known to him, helping the transition into the new role easier for all concerned.
