South Canterbury batted first scoring 206 for 9 dec thanks to Ted Grigg 49, Gabriel Evans 43, Tom Mcfarlane 26, Ben Stayt 18*, Ed Heenan 14 and William Johnson 10*. Grigg and Mcfarlane shared an 80 run partnership for the 8th wicket which really set the team up for a good score.

North Otago had a good start chasing the score with the openers putting on 50 before James Arscott took 3 quick wickets and then Evans with 3-11 off 6 overs and Charlie Martin with 2-23 off 8 overs cleaned up the middle and lower order dismissing North Otago for 100.

A good fielding display by South Canterbury with 6 catches and 2 run outs with Ben Thomson taking 2 excellent catches at slip off Arscott.

South Canterbury now play Canterbury Country next Sunday at CSG.

South Canterbury: 206-9 dec

North Otago: 100-10

Result: Win to South Canterbury by 106 runs.
