South Canterbury Cricket employs a full time Community Cricket Development Officer. His principle focus is upskilling and mentoring coaches as well as organising the development programmes and school visits.
Many primary schools are involved in the NZ Shield & Cup competitions which give children who do not play weekend cricket the opportunity to play the game.
Cricket in South Canterbury now has access to top facilities with the building of the Graeme Blanchard Cricket Centre where the indoor nets and facilities allow cricketers to practice all year round.
The centre can be hired for use by clubs, schools, teams or individuals, so to find out more contact South Canterbury Cricket.
If you have any questions regarding coaching and development programmes, or would like assistance establishing them, then contact Gilky to see how he can help.
