Ants de Joux made Life Member
The highlight of the South Canterbury Cricket Association SGM & AGM held on October 22nd was the induction of Anthony (Ants) de Joux as a Life Member of the South Canterbury Cricket Association.
Not only has Ants been the face of the Celtic Cricket Club over many years he has also been a big part of the Assn too coaching rep teams at every level and with notable success the last two years at Senior level. He has also complerted a couple of stints on the Board and has an unbridled passion for everything cricket!
Ant’s typical response to receiving the life membership was;
“Holy cow, that’s awesome! Thanks very much and I am proud to receive it”
Also at the meeting long-serving Board Director, Jess Wooffindin was thanked for 8 years service on the board, coming along at the start of a push to get the female game back up to speed and her contributions to the board and South Canterbury Cricket have been invaluable., We wish Jess a speedy recovery from her latest sporting operation and all the best in future endeavours.

South Canterbury Cricket is holding a major fundraising event on Friday night October 4th in the Southern Trust Events Centre Lounge (upstairs in stadium at Aorangi Park).
The cost of living continues to rise as does the costs associated with playing and managing cricket so our Board is putting together this Bingo and Auction Night Event as a major fundraiser to help avoid raising club affiliation fees too much as well as costs to participate in district tournaments and other cricket activities.
We would love your support by registering for a table at the event (minimum of 4, maximum of 6 per table) using the link below.
* Note this event is R18 due to our liquor license.
REGISTER HERE TO CONFIRM YOUR TABLE NOW

Once you are settled in with your group at your table there will be table service – you will be given a number to text with your order and it will be brought to your table. We will have eftpos available for easy pay!
For those of you asking why ‘Bingo’ we can assure you it isn’t just normal Bingo, there are stories, fun sections and a variety of ways to fill up your numbers. and win prizes.
We will also be holding an Auction on the night with some great items available to bid for. Nearer the event we will publish a list of the main items so you can put in bids if unable to attend.
If you read this and have any items you wish to donate to the Cricket Auction please get in touch with Mark on 0272698654 or via email to sccricket@xtra.co.nz – he would love to hear from you.
Also during the break we will present some of the individual awards from last season. We will notify recipients to ensure they can attend.
