This page has a link to the updated draws/ ground changes for the girls festival running Sunday (abandoned), Monday and Tuesday for coaches to access their new grounds for matches and also has links to maps to locate each venue.

Game Format Changes

The Festival has now been changed to a T15 not T20 Festival i.e. 15 overs aside and games are now scheduled to start at 9.30am each day not 10.30am.

As it is only 15 overs aside, bowlers will be restricted to a maximum of 3 overs each.

There are still no batting restrictions but we  are strongly encouraging coaches to retire girls after about 20 balls in order to give as many players the opportunity to bat. Retired batsmen may return to bat once all the team are out and if there are overs remaining. With the fickle weather we ask that you try and ensure everyone gets a good opportunity across the three matches each day.

At this stage it looks highly likely that tomorrow’s matches will be transferred to artificial pitches at School Park and Anzac Square so a couple of teams may have a short drive to change venues in between games if playing at Anzac Square.

We are hopeful that the final day we can get all games back on Celtic Sports Ground and grass pitches, but as always the weather is outside our control.

A revised draw that shows what grounds you are playing on if not at Celtic can be found here -> Girls Yr 9 & 10 Draw & Grounds Backup

** Note: Monday matches are all now scheduled at the Reserve ground which are all artificial.

Start Times:

These have been adjusted on PlayHQ but ideally when teams are both ready please just start and tell the umpires you are all set to go. The new start times are also shown on the draws link above.

We recommend girls eat their lunches when batting as we don’t want to waste too much time between matches with ground changes required and hopefully we can get plenty of cricket in. There is a bigger break between game 1 and game 2 than later games to allow for delayed starts due to weather but after that we will hopefully run two matches one after the other.

As the draw is built to allow Southland the bye on the last game, on Monday if we can’t start on time, or close to it, then round 1 would be abandoned and we would move to round 2 and so on and on Tuesday regardless of what has happened on Monday we will start with Round 4 then Round 5 and 6 to follow.
