Celtic took revenge on last season’s loss at home to Sefton, the Canterbury Country top club by travelling to Mainpower Oval in Rangiora and returning the favour.

Fielding first Celtic kept a tight reign on things and at one stage had Sefton 105-7 after Sam Carlaw took four wickets for just 20 runs in his 10 over spell, after having 4-7 at one stage. Sefton eventually making 158 all out.

The other bowlers all chipped in too as can be seen by their figures below.

James Blackstock 6-0-33-1, Glenn Matthews 9-1-25-1, Dan Laming 7-0-29-1, Andrew Holden 5-1-20-1, Ben Watson 4-1-7-0, Jake Naylor 2-0-12-0 and Jeremy Liddy 0.3-0-0-1.

In reply the experience of Jeremy Liddy who opened and scored 57  not out in partnership with Dan Laming who finished 67 not saw Celtic home finishing on 161 after 43 overs and only losing the wickets of Andrew Buckingham and Jake Naylor.

they now travel to Christchurch on January 29th to take on the Old Collegians for the right to travel to the National Club Champs in Auckland in April so we will wish them all the best for that match too.
