nzcricketCricket is New Zealand’s staple summer sport with more than 100,000 people currently playing the game, making it one of the most widely played sports in the country.

New Zealand Cricket is responsible for the administration of the game in New Zealand, with delivery of grassroots, club, school and representative programmes managed through six regional Major Associations.  New Zealand Cricket also administers the New Zealand men’s international team, The BLACKCAPS and the women’s international team, The White Ferns, as well as the New Zealand A, U19 teams and emerging players.

The main function of the position is to ensure that Major and District Associations deliver agreed amateur cricket priorities, including governance, administration, financial and relationship management, and to act as the “champion” for all levels of amateur cricket in NZC and the wider cricket and sports community.

We’re looking for applicants who have experience of working in the management and administration of cricket at a senior level, ideally at MA or DA level, and who have a strong track record in dealing comfortably with senior & executive management teams & boards in a variety of formal presentation settings.

The ideal applicant will also:

  • Have a good understanding of modern sports governance
  • Have good commercial skills and knowledge including financial management
  • Have an understanding of the cultures that drive organisations
  • Be results-driven with effective planning skills

A tertiary qualification in Business or a related discipline would be favourably regarded.

Candidates should email a CV and covering letter to Margaret Nimmo, GM Human Resources at careers@nzcricket.org.nz. A position description is available on our website www.blackcaps.co.nz.  Applications close at midday on Friday 27 September.
