Canterbury Cricket 'Coach of the Year' 2012-13 Season - Robin Beeby

Canterbury Cricket ‘Coach of the Year’ 2012-13 Season – Robin Beeby

South Canterbury Senior Cricket Coach Robin Beeby’s success in coaching the Representative Side to a Hawke Cup Challenge in Rotorua was recognised by the Canterbury Cricket Association when he was recently awarded the “Coach of the Year” Award at the Canterbury Cricket Prizegiving.

Robin was promoted from assistant coach to senior rep coach this season & took the team to a Hawke Cup Challenge against Bay of Plenty, our first in 13 years. He was dedicated throughout the season, attending every practice as well as attending senior cricket every weekend in his selector/coach role. Where possible he went out of his way by attending opposition matches in other districts to help formulate better plans for our own matches.

The South Canterbury team won 3 of their 4 Zone matches outright & lost the other match on the first innings, as well as beating North Otago and Mid Canterbury in 50 over one day matches, so his successful coaching recipe would appear to be reflected by these results.

Congratulations to Robin from South Canterbury Cricket and all their supporters.
