After a good start and being 51 for 2 at drinks SC collapsed to be all out for 73 and only managed to bat 27 of their allotted 40 over’s. Toby Clemett 11, Fletcher Rhodes 10 not out and Toby Scannell 9 were the main contributors. 2 run outs in the middle order certainly didn’t help the teams cause.

A much improved bowling and ground fielding effort had the Canterbury team under real pressure and at 45 for 5 and then 60 for 7 the game was in the balance, Canterbury eventually got home 8 down in what was a very competitive match. Medium pace bowlers Sam Reilly-Sigel (2 wickets) and Jarrod Phillips (1 wicket) bowled well in tandem and then off spinner Alex Kelliher 2-15 and leg spinner Caleb Donaldson 1 for 8 almost bowled SC to an unexpected victory, a couple of dropped catches in the end were costly. An excellent run out by Ollie Richards to get rid of their opening batsman was also crucial.
