On a slow pitch in Mandeville due to recent rain South Canterbury unfortunately lost the toss and were asked to bat first against Christchurch Metro Astle. They did a good job only being dismissed in the last of their 40 overs for 112. Opener Toby Clemmet and No 10 Logan Sowden equal top-scored with 14.
