Cricket is recognised as New Zealand’s premier summer sport and South Canterbury Cricket has a long and proud history of outstanding performance as a leading cricket organisation. We are seeking applications for the position of Development Manager, which has recently become vacant.
The position presents an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified candidates to assist growing participation and enjoyment in cricket. The role requires leadership, organisational skills, communication skills and the ability to relate to and enthuse all stakeholders in the game.
The position is based at the Graeme Blanchard Indoor Centre in Timaru, and some travel will be required with the South Canterbury region and other parts of New Zealand from time to time.
Key tasks will include:
- Promoting the game at Club, Secondary School and Primary School Levels
- Implementing and expanding Canterbury Cricket’s Development initiatives
- Increasing participation levels among players, administrators and volunteers
- Managing the transition of players from primary schools to secondary schools and from secondary schools to clubs
