Ben Cosgriff –  Ben has only just turned 17 and took 19 senior wickets at 25 in his first season of senior for Temuka, played for

SC U17, SC Emerging Players, and in the Canterbury U17 Tri-series and if he progresses at current rate we will be reading about his deeds for many years to come. A great lad on and off the field, always turning up for any practices or helping at any other club events, Ben is a very deserving winner of the Graeme Blanchard Memorial Trophy.

SOUTH CANTERBURY SUPPORTERS CLUB TROPHY – To player/Umpire/Administrator who contributes most on or off the field:

Cm Lundie

Cameron Lundie  – A stalwart of the Pleasant Point club and the person responsible for getting their adult grade club back up and running, Cam still plays senior cricket to a high standard, is an important member of the PPCC committee, while still looking after the bar, changing rooms and helping the groundsman prepare pitches for the numerous sides. Many of the off the field jobs wouldn’t be done without someone like Cam, and he takes this responsibility with him when attending other matches, whether Emerging Players for South Canterbury, or interacting with players at other clubs.

ALLAN EDGINTON TROPHY for Sports Personality of the year:

Craig Hinton

Craig Hinton – Craig retired this season from SC Rep team after 15 years in the side. One of the good guys around the traps and you never hear a bad word about him. He capped off his rep career as the leading bowler for SC this season, and last season featured in the SC Record 10th wicket partnership. Always available to come and help train bowlers at mid-winter practices or come to rep team trainings to help. He has captained Star for the last three seasons as well as being on their committee, and helping organise their teams.

This season he finished a long senior rep career as the leading bowler with 11 wickets at 22 best of 4-70 in his final match.

He played 68 matches for SC, 42 Hawke Cup, 24 one day and captained the side in two T20 matches against Canterbury A and Canterbury Country in the Mid Canterbury 150th anniversary tournament. He bowled nearly 1000 overs (927.4) and took 134 wickets at an economy rate of 3.2 including 5 five wicket bags with a best of 6-71 and also as a dogged No 11 adding a record unbeaten partnership for the 10th wicket of 122 last season with Dinesh de Silva scoring 24no but batting for 84 balls.

He has been a leader in the men’s game for many years, whether club or rep, at practices, on trips away as a driver, player and member of senior leadership team, and importantly brings the best values in a person to all his cricket and is a fitting winner of the Personality of the Year award.
