South Canterbury Primary A team played Chch Metro at Hagley Park on a wet low slow pitch.

Chch Metro won the toss and put South Canterbury into bat. William Sharp 30 and Gabriel Evans 20 shared a 56 run 3rd wicket partnership and then with Cullen Grace scoring 18 South Canterbury managed to get their way to 113 which was a handy score on a very slow outfield.

Chch Metro started there chase briskly as the South Canterbury bowlers length was too short, however the introduction of Gabriel Evans saw wickets start to fall regularly at both ends and South Canterburyy were well on top having Chch Metro 52 for 6, Rico Syme then batted very positively scoring 49 before being run out but had ensured that Chch Metro passed the South Canterbury score 8 wickets down and they finished on 134.

All the South Canterbury bowlers did a good job with Evans finishing with 4/23 off 9 overs.

South Canterbury now take on Dunedin Metro this Sunday in Timaru.
