sccricket-logo-grnThe South Canterbury Year 6 team had another win this time over Dunedin Metro at the Gardens in Dunedin (NEV home ground).

South Canterbury batted first and thanks to McGregor Isbister (50) and James Martin (15) South Canterbury got off to a good start and at 105 for 2 were looking good to get a big score.  However a middle order collapse saw them slip to 125 for 8 before Alex Kelliher and Oliver Porter put on 12 for the ninth wicket to get South Canterbury to 137 for 8 off their 35 overs.

Dunedin Metro never got ahead of the run rate and thanks to very good bowling and fielding by all the South Canterbury boys they were able to restrict Dunedin to 130 for 7 off their 35 overs.

Luka Foy was the best of the bowlers picking up 3 for 20 off his 7 overs.

South Canterbury’s next game is against Chch Metro on March 24th in Timaru.
