The South Canterbury Yr 5&6 cricket team made it six wins from six games this year after they beat Mid Canterbury by 97 runs on Sunday.
South Canterbury batted first and after being in early trouble at 42 for 6 they got through to 176 for 9 thanks to a brilliant 91 not out from William Sharp. He hit 12 fours and 1 six and shared in a 90 run partnership with Charlie Martin who contributed 15, the pair ran very well and always had Mid Canterbury under pressure.
The South Canterbury bowlers and an excellent fielding display then restricted Mid Canterbury to 79 for 7 off there 40 overs.
Charlie Martin picking up 3 for 9 off 6 overs and Gabriel Evans 1 for 7 off 7 overs were the pick of the bowlers.
South Canterbury now take on Christchurch Metro on Dec 11th in Christchurch.
