The South Canterbury Under 15 side had its first outing in 2017 against Mid Canterbury at the Temuka Domain on Sunday 5th March and unfortunately their second match against North Otago was called off due to the weather. Below is a summary of their match.

A mid order collapse had SC at 82 for 6 but Caleb Donaldson found good support from Nick Goodwin 6, Ben Johnston 14 and Jarrod Phillips 16 to see them through to a respectable 164. Donaldson showed good technique early and a nice array of shots later to end 58 not out .

Mid Canterbury started in a positive fashion but in his 5th over Balkrishna Uniyal struck twice to14 have them 28 for 2.

At 71 for 5, SC were on top but an excellent partnership for the 6th wicket took MC to 130 before Hayden Kerr was introduced and together with Jarrod Phillips they managed to take the remaining 5 wickets to bowl MC out for 147.

Kerr finishing with the impressive figures of 4 for 11 off 6 overs to round off a great all round match, while Phillips took 2 for 25 off his 10 overs.
