The Capability Support Manager role has been established to support volunteers within District and Sub-Associations, Clubs and Schools throughout the Canterbury region. This role will work alongside organisations to establish systems, policy, planning templates and measures to increase organisational effectiveness and efficiency.

As part of the NZC One Cricket Review, capability support was recognized as one of the top three areas needing resource and attention. Canterbury Cricket are seeking to employ a Capability Support Manager to give the District and Sub-Association members, clubs and schools the best chance of success through increasing their effectiveness in delivery of our game.
The Capability Support Manager is a full time permanent position reporting directly to the General Manager – Community Cricket. The role forms part of the shared service support team. It will work out of the CCA office and link with the Game Development staff and Cricket Managers as part of the newly developed structure for community cricket delivery. We are seeking a person who can work alongside volunteers and support them ‘to do the job they do’, building their off-field capability and to keep cricket as NZ’s top summer sport.

- High level of knowledge and appreciation of sport governance and capability
- A proven track record of working alongside and influencing volunteers
- A person with the character and passion that will fit into our existing team
- Excellent relationship skills
- Ideally someone with respect of and understanding for the Canterbury and New Zealand sporting landscape
