South Canterbury made it two wins from three at the South Island Primary Schools’ Cricket tournament in Ashburton.

They gained a first-innings win over Marlborough yesterday in a dominant performance which saw them roll their opposition for just 78.

The spinners prospered yet again, and the wickets were shared around.

Connor Bradley and William Carter bowled well in tandem to restrict Marlborough to their small total. In reply, South Canterbury cruised past the target thanks to 62 from Lawrence Darling and a supporting effort from their captain, Alastair Harvey.

An attempt to bowl out Marlborough twice in one day was made, but they survived until stumps.

South Canterbury will play Mid Canterbury to end the tournament, with John Threlkeld hoping to hear several of his players announced in Canterbury and Southern Districts teams by the end of play today.
